This website is devoted to the study of the mid Suffolk surname Diaper.

This is still very much 'work in progress'. I am using the censuses gro index 
and cosford data base to acquire information.

In the 1841 census there where 102 Diaper's recorded.
  
The Diapers in the early 1800's where mainly son's of the soil; as agriculture 
declined the town of Stow market expanded and industrialised; thus by and 
large 
most of the Diaper's where able to make a living locally and remained local to 
mid Suffolk until the late 1800's. This has made it easy to trace their 
families.

Beware Names marked *** there are multiple first names on the index and I 
am unable to sort out which one is which without birth certificates
